As a University Lecturer, Bea faces serious professional challenges every day, not only in a Hungarian but also in an international environment. In this position, she often has to give presentations in English at conferences, speaking in front of hundreds of people, interpreting different accents, and responding to spontaneous questions. Beyond everyday communication, therefore she also had to perform in English on a professional level – this was the point when she consciously decided that she wanted to improve her language skills.

3. What is your goal with learning?
"In my work, I have reached a position where I regularly need to use English and often have to speak confidently in front of several hundred people. I also have to perform at European and international conferences: I need to understand questions – even with different accents – and know how to respond. My goal is to become more confident, expand my vocabulary, and improve my pronunciation, as it’s helpful if people can understand me easily."
4. What do you think about the course?
"The course exceeded all my expectations. Since then, I have attended several conferences, and my stress levels have decreased significantly – the language school played a big role in preparing me for these challenges. I have already worked with several teachers, as the school adapted extremely flexibly to my changing schedule and always made sure I didn’t miss a single lesson. Every teacher is fantastic and always tailors the lesson to my current needs: if I am preparing for a conference presentation, we focus on that, and if I want to speak more confidently in everyday life, they help me with that."
5. Why and who would you recommend IH Budapest to?
"I came with special needs, and I no longer belong to the younger age group. A big disadvantage for our generation is that we were exposed to English quite late, especially in a native-speaking environment. Today’s young people are already global citizens and can acquire languages much earlier and more naturally – an advantage that cannot be caught up.
