Mock exams

Real exam conditions, real feedback

A mock exam is not a simplified set of practice tasks but the complete Cambridge exam — both written and speaking — with exactly the same task types candidates will meet on the real day. The goal is that nothing feels unfamiliar on exam day.

More than a score — real, personalised feedback

Marking the full mock exam takes no more than 2 weeks after the exam. We share the results through the agreed channels — feedback to the preparing teacher on the whole group, email feedback directly to candidates, results sent to the school, or another individual arrangement.

Speaking feedback

After the speaking test, examiners spend a few minutes on the candidate’s strengths and areas to improve — and if the next level is within reach, they give concrete advice on how to get there.

Writing feedback

Writing is scored against the Cambridge criteria, with a short written summary on quality, length and the key areas to improve. Examiners do not correct the text itself.

We also give preparing teachers and institutions general feedback on which skills to develop in the group and how — one of the most valuable long-term benefits of a mock exam.

Flexible organisation, tailored to your institution

Ideally the whole mock exam — written and speaking — takes place on one day: the written papers in one block with short breaks, and the speaking tests scheduled in pairs.

For larger groups

With many candidates, the written papers can run in several rooms, or the written and speaking parts can run in parallel in the morning and afternoon of the same day.

If one day is not possible

The written and speaking parts can be split — for example, written papers on a Wednesday/Thursday and speaking tests the following Tuesday/Wednesday. This way candidates can already get feedback on their written results at the speaking test.

Exact start and finish times and break lengths are always agreed with the partner institution, based on the available time, rooms, examiners and number of candidates.

On-site mock exams

For groups of at least 20, the mock exam can also be held at your institution. Enquire via the website or write to [email protected] directly.
